Hi! I'm Jason. I'm a placemaker with a passion to make Greater Leeds the best it can be. I'm driven by the question of why our region is so often uncelebrated and unheard - and I'm on a mission to fix it.
Let's make Leeds famous.
I work on projects that give tangible space to the already amazing culture and heritage that our diverse communities have built in Leeds. But, through my background in comms, I want to go further than just telling our story; I want to show our story.
I'm about creating 'wow' moments in the city. When first-time visitors arrive in the city, the spectacle of Leeds must be visible if we want our city to attract investment, keep more talent and grow to compete on the international stage. My work is all about creating 'brand Leeds'.
My background
A graduate of Leeds Arts University and UCL, I've worked for 15 years in communications as a Senior Producer and Head of Learning. I've transformed the way colleagues at major corporates engage with training programmes, and how external audiences connect with content. My experience is in understanding what people like, what they want and then producing content that will hit the right receptors.
Meanwhile, I've long engaged with the urban development of Leeds both in the built environment and the changing context of devolved governance. I bring workable ideas of how we can better show off our city through existing planning frameworks and construction projects.

Synima
Head of Learning & Senior Producer
I spearheaded Synima's learning and development offer, while also working with UK, US, and EU clients to produce video, animation and graphic collateral for their global marketing teams in my role as Senior Producer.
Volt
I volunteered for several years to run Volt UK's election campaigns and grow their social media profile through regular posts, content creation and website articles. I additionally worked on pan-European projects such as a Citizen's Initiative to bring European High Speed Rail policy change to the European Parliament.
Westminster After Dark
Citizen's Assembly
Over a month, I helped formulate the first ever night time strategy for the City of Westminster. I contributed ideas and helped write up findings into pieces that were later incorporated into the new strategy that is now being introduced.

MSc Urban Studies
A joint programme between The Bartlett School of the Built Environment & the School of Geography, I focused my study on issues of transport, major infrastructure, planning and heritage. My dissertation aimed to make inroads to understand the cultural performance of Leeds, an area which I am keen to further explore.

In my undergrad, I built the strong foundation to create professional content, understand how to research and engage audiences, and produce brand messaging accordingly.
